In its eighth year, the recently completed Bike4Chai cycling event had its best year yet, raising over $8.44 million for Chai Lifeline, which supports children, including at the ride’s annual destination, Camp Simcha in upstate New York.
The ride, which is limited to around 500 participants, saw an increase of over $1.4 million from 2016. Also, for the first time ever, Bike4Chai had a participant raise over $1 million, to go along with 13 other individuals that each raised at least $100,000. Top fundraisers were tracked in real-time on the Bike4Chai website, a custom-built solution powered by RallyBound, and were displayed on big screens at the finish line celebration.
In addition to the custom work RallyBound did for Bike4Chai when the event switched to our platform before the 2016 ride, the flexibility that our platform allows, let the Bike4Chai team make some innovative embedded enhancements to the homepage and fundraiser pages for the 2017 ride. One of these added improvements was a real-time ride tracker for each participant on their fundraising page, which was shown on a Google Map for each day of the ride.
Another was to embed a livestream of the finish line for the ride, which included a corresponding celebration for the riders, staff and family and friends of Camp Simcha and of the riders.
We are thrilled to continue to work closely with the Bike4Chai team and we look forward to an even more successful event in 2018!
