The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), in conjunction with two other partners, has won a 2017 Bell Ringer Award for the peer-to-peer fundraising campaign “Moving Mountains for Multiple Myeloma,” or “MM4MM.”
The MM4MM campaign sends teams of hikers to some of the most famous mountains and other natural wonders in the world, including Mt. Everest, the Grand Canyon, Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kilimanjaro, with each team member pledging to raise a certain minimum (ranging between $3,000-$10,000 depending on the destination) for multiple myeloma research. According to MMRF, teams are, “made up of multiple myeloma patients, caregivers, doctors, clinicians, nurses, and others connected to multiple myeloma. This is a powerful and life-changing experience as the team overcomes challenges, pushes beyond perceived limits, and honors loved ones and friends living with multiple myeloma.”
The campaign has raised $1.06 million overall, with over $638,000 raised since MMRF switched to RallyBound’s fundraising platform in November 2016.
