Looking back on 2016, it is really amazing how many nonprofit customers – both old and new – launched and ran innovative and successful campaigns using our fundraising platform. We were humbled to add such terrific campaigns from new clients including the Sierra Club, Make a Wish International, Shatterproof and many more to the hundreds of campaigns we already served before 2016. In order to continue to exceed our clients’ expectations for their fundraising solution, we rolled out numerous improvements to our platform over the course of the year, while also significantly expanding our team and business operations. Here are some highlights from throughout 2016:
Acquired ChorusConnect to offer native mobile apps
Moving forward, nonprofits that wish to run successful fundraising campaigns must have a clear mobile strategy. To better serve our clients, RallyBound acquired the Chorus platform, which powers 4 of the top 15 peer-to-peer fundraising events in the country, as well as thousands of other such events.
Improved registration for returning users
We adjusted our event and campaign registration process to automatically detect a returning user (based on their email address) when they attempt to either login or register for a new campaign hosted on the RallyBound platform.
New campaign/fundraiser/team cards
The updated design of snapshots for DIY, memorial and other types of campaigns that are flexible enough to use to highlight fundraisers, teams and specific campaigns, provide a modern “card” look for fundraising websites.
RallyBound app for the Oracle Sales Cloud
We added an Oracle integration that allows nonprofits to add data on fundraisers and donors from their fundraising website to their Oracle Sales Cloud.
New image and video galleries
Pictures (and videos) say a thousand words, and one of the main focuses of our template and microsite designs is to use vibrant imagery that tells a nonprofit event’s story in the best possible way. To make images and videos of events easier for fundraisers, donors and participants to navigate, we’ve updated our galleries for each.
Partial refunds and expanded support for international donations
While RallyBound had allowed full refunds for some time, we added the ability to partially refund donations in 2016.
Salesforce Lightning ready
RallyBound on Microsoft Azure
Our platform was moved to Microsoft Azure, allowing our fundraising platform and client sites to be more secure and redundant, and requiring less scheduled maintenance.
Scheduling registration end timing and capacity
A new administrative function gives nonprofits the option of closing registration at a certain date and time or when a participant limit has been reached.
Dreamforce & Salesforce ISV partnership
We had an amazing four days at Dreamforce in San Francisco in October, where we sponsored the nonprofit Lodge and met so many exciting nonprofits, Salesforce employees and consultants, as well as other technology companies. Soon after the conference, as part of our continued commitment to the Salesforce platform, RallyBound became a Salesforce Registered Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Partner!
Apple invited RallyBound to work on an integration with our fundraising platform and Apple Pay, and now Apple Pay – and Google’s Android Pay – are available for integration on our platform for clients using payment processor WePay.
For some time, RallyBound has helped to automate email communications on our platform, sending out preset “autoresponder” emails based on actions taken and goals reached. Earlier this year, we took this a step further: nonprofits can now build custom autoresponders.
Idealist Consulting partnership
Idealist Consulting, based in Portland, is a Salesforce preferred partner that has helped nonprofits launch and expand their use of Salesforce since 2006, and we were happy to add them as an integration partner earlier this year.
NYC office and new hires
Finally, we ended our year by adding a number of new team members, including in our newly opened New York City office. Happy New Year and we look forward to working with all of our clients and partners to make 2017 our best year yet!
